My culinary journey started at the tender age of 9, when I announced that I would do the shopping for, and preparation of the Saturday evening family dinner. As the daughter of a working mother who prepared everything from scratch, I was mesmerized with every aspect of food preparation for as long as I can remember, though I did look forward to eating Beefaroni at my brother and sister in law’s house.
Fast forward to 2000: I became vegetarian on the advice of my acupuncturist, and haven’t looked back since. I have had private instruction in Cuban, Indian, Korean, and Thai cooking from restaurant owners and friends, and possess a true love of food, and a passion for the Zen of food preparation. As a Certified Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, I love to incorporate Ayurvedic principles in the kitchen. I am an avid recipe researcher, and love to try out my newest discoveries in my home test kitchen on my husband, David, and our friends.
